Giant Slip and Slide

Clarks brought some roofing membrane and several hoses to Draper Park and set up a slip and slide for the cub scouts and their families. Everyone had such a great time.

We did a marathon...on bike!

This morning, I watched Lucy goes to SunValley in honor of our stay here and my personal love for Lucy. There are pictures of her in several places in the lodge along with other big stars.

When Bruce finished class, we rented bikes and went a whoppin' 26 miles around the SunValley area. It was awesome. We went on a SunValley / Elhorn / Ketchum loop and went down the Big Wood River Trail (which used to be the Union Pacific line into SunValley) to visit our fly fishing spot. The initial hill was hard and I was definitely out of breath, but after that it was a pleasant downhill or level ride. The scenery was fun to see as we pedaled by.

By the end, I was terribly saddle sore and thirsty. We stopped for a lemon aid and rested for a bit. I watched SunValley Serenade at the Opera House while Bruce caught up on e-mails and then we hopped back on our bikes and went to Ketchum for pizza!

Our bikes weren't due to be returned until the next morning, so after Bruce left for class, I hoped on the bike and did the loop again. I loved it!

Sunvalley Gondola and Chair Lift

We took a ride on the Sun Valley Gondola. We reached the top and were overcome by a summer thunder storm. Fortunately, the Round House was open for lunch so we went in and had a great lunch while watching it pour. It passed over and we were able to take the chair lift to the top of Baldy. It was beautiful to look around on both sides and see the valley and mountain ranges. The wild flowers were beautiful. After coming back down, we took a short hike along the river which was equally stunning.

SunValley Gondola

We got tickets to ride the Gondola. We got to the top, just as a summer storm rolled in and all lifts were closed. We sought shelter in the round house (another location Lucy filmed in) and despite the look on my face had a really great lunch. By the time we finished lunch the storm had blown over and we took the chair lift up to get a better view of the valley. It was beautiful. We could see another storm approaching so didn't stay long for fear that we wouldn't be able to get down via the lifts. Once down, we explored the river and surrounding areas and enjoyed the beauties of nature.

Fly Fishing in SunValley

Bruce hired a guide to take us fly fishing while in Sun Valley. I had never been before and Bruce is alway looking for ways to improve his game, so to speak. Bruce was obviously excited on our way to the lake and kept making cute comments like, "can't you feel it". I hooked several fish and so did Bruce. It was fun to learn but I am not sure that I will ever be the die-hard fisherman that Bruce is. But it is definately something we could do together. I would love to go, fish a little, and just enjoy the outdoors or a good book for the remainder of the time letting him fish his day away. Thanks Bruce for teaching me a new skill!

Timp Cave

Grandma Warner planned a family hike up to Timp Cave. We all enjoyed the hike and the amazing cave! Thanks Grandma!

Volleyball Family Night!

Megan has fallen in love with volleyball. She attended several camps this summer. We bought a net for the backyard and she and friends spent hours bumping, setting and spiking! She wanted to have the family over for a night of competition - she even made a cake to go along with the theme!

Kyle and Kegan's Birthday Party

Kyle and Kegan celebrated their birthdays together this year. Bruce took the party kids (Kegan, Kyle, Megan, Macey, Braxton, Spencer, and Nicole) out on Utah Lake with Coon's Boat while the rest of us went swimming at Coons. After a couple of hours, Kari, I and the little kids met them for dinner and had pizza, fruit, cake and ice-cream. After dinner, the little kids got a turn on the boat. Happy 13th Birthday Kyle and Kegan!

Draper Days Parade

We love our Draper Days parade. We loaded up the wagon and walked up to the top of Willow Springs. We enjoyed the ward breakfast. Afterward, Grandma and Grandpa Warner, Kegan, Nicole, Addie, Thatcher, Spencer and Michelle joined us for the parade. The kids had fun watching and collecting a huge amount of candy. It was like Halloween in July.

Meg's Homecoming...yahoo!

We all know that Megan doesn't like germs or being dirty. Trek provided her with both. We were amazed at how the dirt was everywhere - even under our clothing. Here's Meg on our return to civilization before enjoying the luxury of hot running water.
