Halloween Home-Evening

Tonight the Warner clan came for a Halloween Family Home Evening. Greg suggested our lesson be on raising the dead or the Holy Ghost or something along those lines, but we just played games and made shakes (each child brought candy from their treat bags for the mix in). We also had a small celebration for Kari's 38th birthday!

Candy Over-load!

Megan has a drawer full of candy. After adding her Halloween loot, her drawer is almost full. She has been working on it for some time. Megan and Lindsey used Lindsey's candy to turn themselves into candy fairies. They were already sweet, but now they are irresistible.

Halloween Feast

Halloween this year was on Sunday. We trick or treated the night before and decided to create a spooky meal for the actually day. Megan made Halloween cocktail bowls and mouths, Lindsey made mummies, I made chicken fingers and brains, and everyone helped make home-made root beer. Tyson loved blowing on the root beer and making the dry ice smoke. It was a fun and festive meal that we will try to make tradition!

Trick or Treat

We took advantage of all the candy collecting festivities. Bruce took Lindsey to the care center on Friday evening to trick or treat (Tyse was at U-fit, Kyle at his football pep-rally and Meg and I were at the U of U vs BYU volleyball game - otherwise we would have all gone), I took Lindsey and Tyson to the Mall to Trick or Treat on Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening Bruce took Lindsey and Kyle and Meg took off with their friends. Tyse and I stayed home and sat on the porch with BonnieJean and watched all the trick or treaters come to the house and handed out candy. Afterwards we went to Tolks for donuts and rootbeer and the kids had their annual sort and trade extravaganza. The kids got loads of candy. Lindsey is planning on taking some of hers to a local dentist who gives the kids $1 pound to bring in their candy. She is going to use the money to buy a pet fish. Tyson woke up this morning and went straight for the candy bowl and the front door. He was ready for more!

Lindsey's Class

I went and helped with Lindsey's class Halloween Party. After the party, I took this picture of her class! Lindsey is the spooky, green faced witch on the front row.

Wolf Creek

The kids had Friday off of school, so we took off to spend an overnighter at Wolfcreek. Davis', Coxs and Tolks came along. We had a great time playing games, enjoying the recreation center, and having a wonderful Halloween brunch!

Celebration!

Today Lindsey earned her trip to Frogurt for sleeping in her own bed for 7 nights! Hallelujah! Hopefully it sticks, and I will have the floor on the side of my bed back.

First Snowfall of the Season

Tyse woke up early this morning. When I went into lay with him, he was excited about the window - it was especially bright. He took me over and marveled at the snow. We went and touched it and by 7:00 we were decked out in all our snow gear with the flood lights to show us the way, playing in the snow. We played for an hour and a half and then with much protesting, I sent Lindsey to school and made Tyse go to school as well. He was almost and hour late, but he was so excited to be in the snow, I just let it go. I think we probably got around 10 inches. It was beautiful to see the world covered in white and the kids loved the novelty of it all. I just quiver at the thought of it getting cold and being stuck in the house. But after this morning, I think we may get a lot of time outside when the ground is white!

The phrase"get a life" took on new meaning today for Kyle. He was awarded his Life Rank Advancement at our wards Boy Scout Court of Honor. Way to go Kyle!

Pizza Cook-off

After we finished at Cornbelly's, we dropped off Tyson for his sleep-over with Grandma and Grandpa. We hit Macey's for all the needed supplies and went home to have a pizza cook-off with the Davis'. We had three teams: Teenagers, kids (ended up being Lindsey), and adults. The teenagers won overall. They did a great job! Bon Appetite!

Cornbelly's

We spent a couple hours at Cornbelly's soaking up the fun. It was a perfect day and we loved riding the trains, taking wagon rides, getting spooked in the creature, working our way through the corn maze and enjoying all the fun activities!

Twinners

Tyson got some new jammies. When he put his on, Meg offered to go get her similar PJ's. Now whenever Tyse gets ready for bed he wants Meg to do the same. One night we got him ready for bed and he disappeared into the basement. I followed to find him holding Meg's jammies. He had gone into her room, found them in her closet and was bringing them to her. He loves to be the same as Meg!

Lindsey lost her tooth!!!

Lindsey has had a loose tooth for the past few weeks. She has been very careful with it and hasn't let any of us touch it. In the last few days her tooth got super loose. Today she decided that she wanted to pull it out! She sat in the bathroom for about 20 minutes just working on it. It bled a few times which made her a little nervous but she got it out! She was so excited! She called Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam first because grandpa is a dentist! She was so excited that she forced me to blog the pictures right after she lost it so people could see! Right now she is sitting next to me and telling me what to write down, and what pictures to choose! She is super cute!

Silver Lake Flat

In between "jennifer conference" sessions (Lindsey's interpretation), we drove to Solitude Ski resort at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon to walk around Silver Lake. We enjoyed the colors and the chance to be in nature. The kids found their favorite climbing rocks and we all enjoyed the leisurely walk in the mountains. We drove over the top of the mountain into Heber on the way home making a big loop and enjoying the scenery!
