Drama Camp 2011

Megan and MacKenzie worked their dramatic magic again this summer with the 4th annual summer drama camp. They did a show about growing up with songs, dancing, and speaking parts for 16 neighborhood kids and a couple of Coon cousins. Tyson loved it and laughed and laughed. He added his own dimension to the performance with his enthusiasm. The performance was really great! Way to go performers and directors!

Everybody's going surfin'....

Bruce and Kyle are now surfin' on the wake of the boat. My camera ran out of batteries, but after Kyle gets on the wave, he lets go and rides the wave. Pretty cool!

Go Lady Hawks!

Megan made the Alta High School Volleyball Team! Hurrah! She is really excited. They practice everyday after school from 3-6 pm and game days they are gone until around 9 pm. They just got back from a tournament in Cokeville, Wyoming. The girls got to leave after school on Thursday and came home late Saturday night. It is such a small town that they had to sleep in the elementary school gym and their coach slept in a tent outside. She had a blast and got to play some Junior Varsity too.

First Day of School

This year, we have all 4 kids in different schools with different start/end times, and different schedules. Kind-of unique and a little crazy at times. Lindsey is in the 2nd grade at Draper Elementary, Tyse is in the 5th grade at ABTC, Kyle is in the 8th grade at Crescent Middle School and Meg is a sophmore at Alta High School.

Lindsey has had an extremely difficult time going...lots of tears - hysterics really, running from her classroom, refusing to stay, counselors and principal helping and two extremely stressed out parents. The first week was awful, the second got better and now in the 3rd week, she is for the most part going without complaint. She is super duper clingy and doesn't want to be away from us.

Luau Birthday Bash!

Lindsey decided on a Luau for her birthday this year. With hawaiian music playing she greeted her guests with leis and flowered hair clips, we played luau themed games, played on the water slide, drank out of coconut cups, ate cake, sherbet, and tropical fruit and celebrated her big day. She had fun!

MAKING BRUCE'S BIRTHDAY DINNER

The kids all worked together to make Bruce's birthday feast of cracker meat and fettucine. Tyse took his responsibility seriously and crushed the crackers with vigor. Too cute!

SURPRISE!

We planned a little surprise birthday celebration for Bruce this year. I secretly emailed his Utah siblings and invited them over for an evening of incredible, exciting, non stop fun. Bruce had no idea until they showed up. Even Lindsey kept the secret and Tyson didn't say a word either but was waiting on the porch for the company to arrive. We visited, ate cake and ice-cream and hung out.

Snowbird!

Through Wasatch Adaptive Sports, we spent a family day at Snowbird Resort. Bruce and Lindsey rode the alpine slide while the rest of us did the zip line (Lindsey wasn't tall enough), we had all you can eat pizza for lunch (Tyse's favorite), rode the tram to the top of the mountain, and panned for gold. The kids had a great time and it was so awesome to be in the mountains. Thanks WAS! It was a fabulous day out in nature.

Happy Birthday Kyle!

We finally got around to having a birthday party for Kyle. He invited his buddies and Bruce took them out on the lake to tube and wake-board. Kyle said they all had so much fun!

Megan's Mission Cake

Megan loves to make cakes to celebrate events in our lives.  Here is here rendition of the Kentucky flag in honor of Grandma and Grandpa's mission call.  The intent was to take it to them, but hopefully a picture will do.  Somehow it disappeared...

Toothless Wonder

After dangling for what seemed like weeks, Lindsey lost both of her two front teeth within a couple of days of each other.

Grandma and Grandpa are going away on a mission...

Opening the letter....
you are called to serve in....KENTUCKY!

Calling Steph, Greg, and Scott to share the news!
Congratulations Mom and Dad!
