Hogle Zoo

Tyse had a doctors appointment downtown, so we took a quick trip to the zoo following the appointment.  His favorite parts are the train, carosel, water feature and the sand pit...after that comes the animals.

Draper Temple

Megan received her endowment at the Draper Temple.  She wanted to have both sets of Grandparents in attendance and we finally nailed down a date that worked for everyone.  It was a special day to be able to take our sweet daughter to the temple.  It was so sweet to help her get ready in the brides room and to be able to escort her through the process.  So grateful for the choices that she has made in her life, for her testimony of the truthfulness of the gospet, and her worthiness to enter the temple and make covenants there.  It was a grand event!

Las Vegas Tournament

Kyle had a tournament in Las Vegas over Memorial Day.  We were lucky enough to get a reservation at Worldmark on Vegas Boulevard to stay in.  It has several pools and is a Tyson heaven.  We were in the pool most mornings as soon as it opened and often until dark.  One evening Tyse insisted on joining a bunch of rough looking men in the hot tub and proceeded to splash them.  They were such good sports, learned his name, and became his friends which meant they were being constantly doused with water.  They were extremely good sports and go to show you can't judge a book by its cover.  We did get out to eat, sleep and watch basketball.
Kyle played great and they were so close to going home champions!  Grandpas took his notebook with him to each game and marked his stats.  We were so glad to have Joyce and Jerry take the long way back to California so they could join us to cheer Kyle on!  We had lots of fun being together, watching our basketball star, swimming, playing volleyball,  eating, visiting and playing games (FYI: Grandpa plays a mean game of Apples to Apples)!

Tyse likes...

Puppet Shows

Tyson loves going to SNAP on Thursday nights.  This is his buddy Jonah Duffin.

Tyson loves his hamburgers!  He can direct you to several local establishments.  Sometimes I have to drive around an area that I know has a McDonalds to avoid his pleading.

Tyse loves to go to Dad's and Donuts at the elementary school!  This will be his last one since
Lindsey is going to Middle School next year.

Tyson spends A LOT of time in the gym...not exercising himself, but watching Kyle run up and down the court.
Can't say he loves the sport, but does love when he can watch YouTube while Kyle plays or watcing the "dancing girls" at half time.

Family Walk

Tonight we ended up at the CCHS Football Stadium.  Not sure what these big pads are...something for track, but the kids played and jumped and warmed my heart seeing them together.  I love my little family!

Tabernacle Square Concert Gone Bad!

This was a terrible night!  We went to the tabernacle to see David and Jessica perform.  Tyse was so excited!  We walked in and he found a seat, but I thought he might enjoy the balcony.  We went up and sat on the front row.  The staff came up and told us that we couldn't touch the railing if we sat there.  I thought we would be fine, but Tyse found it quite comfortable to rest his chin on the railing as he watched.  Each time he touched it, the sister would come down and tell us that he couldn't and we needed to stop him.  Like most teenagers, telling him he needed to stop made him want to do it more, plus I think it was comfortable for him.  Bruce tried to explain the situation to the sister but ultimately we ended up dragging him kicking and pushing back out of the tabernacle wailing with sadness.  He was so upset to have to leave and honestly didn't understand.  I went to the car and sobbed while Bruce tried to patch up Tyson's broken heart by getting something to eat at the mall.  Not a night I ever want to re-live!  I understand that she was doing what she had been told, but it was hard to not be angry that they couldn't be a little more understanding.  That being said, she did apologize to our neighbor and Bruce as we were struggling to get him out, but by then it was too late for us to go back.  I vowed to never go to a concert again, but we will.  Just will make sure we have an easy out if we need it!

Reggie's Funeral

Monday night, Lindsey noticed that Reggie wasn't able to jump up the steps.  We thought maybe he wasn't feeling well and just needed some rest.  In the morning, Lindsey woke up and found him in his cage taking labored breaths.  She held him and talked to him until he passed away.  That evening after school, we went and bought some flowers that would come up every year to help us remember him.  She chose orange because it was the color of his favorite food carrots.  She decorated a shoe box and included a soft blanket and some of his favorite vegetables inside the box.  She invited Skye and Sunny over to help us bury him.  Tyse attended the funeral as well.  He didn't understand what was happening and went out later and started digging in the dirt.  Lindsey so loved Reggie.  He was a wonderful pet!

Thumbs Up!

Megan and Kyle worked hard with Tyse to teach him to do "thumbs up".  He finally got it!

NOVA CUP - Boise, ID

We were excited that Lindsey had a tournament in Boise because it meant we could see Kris and Erik.  They treated us to a fantastic weekend of family fun!
